Request Your Fee‑Waived Vision Meeting

Request a fee‑waived Vision Meeting to see how the pitfalls in Estate Planning Pitfalls & How To Avoid Them apply to your family – and what to do about them.

Is a Vision Meeting Right For You?

A Vision Meeting is the right next step if:

  • You live in North Carolina or are helping a North Carolina family member
  • You’re 50+ (or helping your parents) and own a home or have meaningful savings
  • You’ve read some or all of Estate Planning Pitfalls & How To Avoid Them and realized your current setup might not work the way you think
  • You want more than a “simple will,” but don’t want to be sold a bunch of legal jargon you don’t understand

If that sounds like you, you’re exactly who we designed the Vision Meeting for.

What You’ll Get In Your Fee‑Waived Vision Meeting

Your Vision Meeting is a 60–90 minute planning and options conversation with a dedicated Client Relationship Manager. It’s not a quick “meet and greet.”

In this session, we will:

  • Clarify your goals, family dynamics, and concerns.
So we understand what you’re actually trying to protect and for whom.
  • Walk through how the major pitfalls from the guide apply to your situation.
Guardianship, probate, “simple” plans, blended families, special needs, long‑term care, and more—so you can see where you’re exposed today.
  • Identify your likely planning depth.
Whether a will‑based, trust‑based, or trust+asset‑protection level of planning makes sense for you, at a high level.
  • Surface the “you don’t know what you don’t know” issues.
Special needs, fragile family relationships, joint accounts, digital assets, long‑term‑care risks, and other landmines that aren’t obvious from forms alone.
  • Explain how our flat‑fee planning works.
So you have a clear sense of the investment ranges before any legal design work begins.
  • Recommend your best next step.
Which could be moving forward with a plan, scheduling an Attorney Strategy Session for more complex cases, or pausing if it’s not the right time.

Internally, we value this level of planning session at around $175 because of the dedicated time and prep involved. As a thank‑you for taking the time to read and prepare—and because we want serious planners to take the first step without worrying about a bill—we waive that fee when you schedule your Vision Meeting as your starting point with our firm.

No legal advice or document drafting happens here; the goal is clarity and direction.

How The Process Works

From “we should probably do something” to “our plan is actually in place.”

Step 1 – Welcome Call

After you request a Vision Meeting:

  • A Client Welcome Specialist will call you (usually within one business day).
  • We’ll ask a few basic questions, confirm we’re a good fit for what you need, and answer initial questions.
  • If we’re a fit, we’ll schedule your Vision Meeting (in‑person or via Zoom). If we’re not, we’ll tell you that up front and, when possible, point you to more appropriate resources.
Step 2 – Vision Meeting (fee‑waived, 60–90 minutes)
  • Planning and options conversation with a Client Relationship Manager.
  • We focus on your goals, how the common pitfalls would play out in your situation, and what planning depth makes sense.
  • You leave with a much clearer picture of where you stand and what your realistic options are.
Step 3 – Attorney Strategy Session (for clients who move forward)
  • Every estate planning client who hires us has an Attorney Strategy Session.
  • The attorney confirms that the planning approach truly aligns with your goals, assets, health, and family dynamics under current North Carolina law.
  • The attorney then designs the legal details of your plan so drafting can begin.

Who Should Attend & How To Get The Most From Your Meeting

For the meeting to be truly useful, we want all key decision‑makers in the room:

  • If you’re married or share finances with a partner, both of you should attend. Estate and long‑term care planning affects you both. When only one spouse comes, the other hears everything second‑hand, and important nuance is lost.
  • If you’re single, widowed, or divorced, you should attend, and you may bring a trusted adult child or helper if you’d like support.

If there’s a good reason one spouse absolutely cannot attend, we’ll still meet—but we’ll likely recommend a follow‑up with both of you before finalizing recommendations.

How to prepare (in 10 minutes or less)
  • Complete your Vision Meeting Form (we’ll send you a link after we schedule your meeting).
  • If you can easily find them, gather any existing wills, trusts, or powers of attorney.
  • Jot down your top 3–5 questions or concerns so you don’t forget them in the moment.

Don’t let “we’re not perfectly prepared” be a reason to cancel. It’s much better to come with what you have and let us help you organize your thinking than to wait for a perfect time that never comes.

Common Questions About The Vision Meeting

Q: Is this really free?
A: Yes. Internally, we value this level of planning session at around $175 because of the dedicated time and prep involved. As a thank‑you for taking the time to read and prepare—and because we want serious planners to take the first step—we waive that fee when you schedule your Vision Meeting as your starting point with our firm.

Q: Will we get legal advice in the Vision Meeting?
A: No. The Vision Meeting is for planning and options—understanding your situation, goals, and likely planning depth. Specific legal advice and design happen in the Attorney Strategy Session after you decide to move forward.

Q: What if we already have wills or a trust?
A: Great. Bring what you have if you can easily find it. In the Vision Meeting, we’ll talk about whether your current setup is likely pointed in the right direction. If your primary goal is a detailed review of existing documents, that may call for a separate, attorney‑led Estate Plan Confidence Check, which we can explain on the call.

Q: What if we’re not sure we’re ready to do anything yet?
A: That’s exactly when a Vision Meeting is most useful. You don’t have to commit to a plan. You just have to be willing to talk about what you’re trying to protect and see what your options are.
