For Carl, family is everything. Through the hardships presented by the pandemic, he found that time with his siblings and other loved ones was the most important and precious thing in life. However, with the passing of his beloved grandmother, he saw firsthand the stress and uncertainty that can come with not having a proper estate plan in place.
Carl works remotely from the Philippines as our DevOps Assistant, helping to automate and make firm processes more efficient; in turn, this allows us to focus all our attention on helping clients.
Carl’s educational and work background is quite interesting when juxtaposed with the work of a law firm. He graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman with a degree in Applied Physics in Instrumentation and has worked in different fields of technology since 2011. One particular field he explored was that of marine research, helping to grow a start-up that focuses on things like underwatering mapping and tracking different species; he even went to the islands of Mindoro and Coron to take part in this research!
Despite his focus on technology rather than law, shifting to the work we do at Carolina Family Estate Planning has allowed Carl to focus on supporting others, which has been a lifelong passion. During the summer, he volunteers by helping to teach children and the elderly how to play different musical instruments.
In his free time, Carl enjoys spending time with family, playing music, reading, and anything that will give him an opportunity to learn. Some special skills include his ability to deep sleep while sitting upright, as well as perform a variety of magic tricks. Carl values honesty, knowledge, and family above all else, which makes him a perfect fit at Carolina Family Estate Planning. It also helps that he’s a certified dog lover!
