Founder and Managing Attorney Jackie Bedard founded Carolina Family Estate Planning in 2009 to help people live better lives by planning secure futures.

She has served on the boards of the North Carolina Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Transitions Guiding Lights, the Foundation for Transitions LifeCare, and the National Alliance of Attorneys for Alzheimer's Planning. Bedard is also a former council member of the Elder Law and Special Needs Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.
Bedard also collaborated with elder law attorneys nationally, helping create the National Alliance of Attorneys for Alzheimer's Planning. She created the Alzheimer's Planning Center as a special division of the firm focused on helping families impacted by dementia. Jackie is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Certified Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Trainer.
Bedard was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for 2017-2020 and was also voted one of the Best Attorneys in Cary Magazine's Maggy Awards 2016-2023 and “Best Attorney” by popular vote in The Cary News in 2017.
Bedard earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated law school magna cum laude in the top 7% of her class at the University of Richmond School of Law.
