Heather Blanchard is an Estate Planning Manager at Carolina Family Estate Planning. She came to us with an impressive background in business development and project management, and an overall history of excellence in her work.
But that’s not why we hired her.
This is why: Heather’s introduction to estate planning–and probate, and long-term care planning–was, unfortunately, intensely personal. Over eight years, with two young children at home, Heather was a caregiver for both her father and her grandmother. Both died intestate, and Heather was plunged into the probate process.
She handled everything.
As she says, “After having to do intestate estate administration twice for my father and grandmother, I have a thorough understanding of estate planning issues. More than I
originally wanted, frankly. I truly value the importance of great planning, and I was impressed by the Carolina Family Estate Planning team’s commitment to each other and the work they do. With my life experience and desire to help others have a better experience, it seemed like a perfect fit.”
Heather and her husband, Eddie, have three daughters: McKenzie, 9, Lauren, 11, and Sunshine, 26. Sunshine is adopted, so, yes, Heather also has extraordinarily practical experience in adoption as well.
They live in Cary with their 17 year old cat–so, add some additional Elder Law experience to the list. Heather is devoted to dance–she has a BFA in dance from ECU–and loves to spend as much time as possible with her girls, teaching yoga and fitness classes, and traveling.
